Candidate Eligibility/Guidelines
Candidates for the printed ballot will be accepted until the beginning of business at the first October monthly meeting. The candidate must live within the Talkeetna Council Boundary (see map HERE):
You are also encouraged to provide a bio for use on the council’s website and KTNA.
Declaration of Candidacy forms can be found HERE and completed forms may be submitted via the following options:

Given to a member of the nominating committee

ELECTION & NOMINATING COMMITTEE DUTIES
To elect new officers/board, the nominating committee will be appointed at the TCCI September meeting according to TCCI bylaws Article IV Section 2, A.
Following the September TCCI board meeting, the board will begin advertising the open Board of Director positions. This should include number of positions vacant, the procedure for contacting the Nominating Committee, the Declaration of Candidacy forms requirement, and candidate eligibility. Eligibility should include a review of TCCI membership bylaw provisions and MSB code 2.76 community councils / 2.76.030 - definitions. Documentation may be required (see MSB determination of eligibility of candidate 5.15.035 (f))
Post notification in the TCCI post office case and Talkeetna public library
Submit announcement on KTNA radio to run through the date of the TCCI October meeting
Post board vacancies on the TCCI web site
Actively canvass for potential nominees
Collect all nominations and Declaration of Candidacy forms by the TCCI October meeting.
Report nominations to the board and membership present.
Nominations & Declaration of Candidacy forms will also be taken from the floor at the October meeting.
Following the closure of the nominations, collect Declaration of Candidacy forms from all write-in candidates.
Compile candidate bios from Declaration of Candidacy forms & post on the TCCI web site.
Send a copy of candidate bios to KTNA radio news department.
